Simon Yearsley is a friend of mine and a colleague at Big Tree Campervans. He has donated money to support the new children’s mountain bike series.
Both Simon and his young son enjoy mountain biking in their spare time. They are keen to watch the scene grow, both locally and across neighbouring Tayside, Fife and Perthshire.
There are now many options for all riders, regardless of age and ability. These include hotspots such as Lochore Meadows, Comrie, Croft, and Alyth Hill, both in Perthshire. Also, Templeton Woods, in Dundee.
Simon and Big Tree Campervans are now supporting the Big Tree Campervans Tayside & Fife Youth MTB Series 2013
MTB Youth Series
The race series will begin this fall with a launch at Middleden, Kirkcaldy. On September 22, riders from eight to sixteen years old can sign up and ride even on the most basic hard-tail bikes.
Scottish Cycling, Developing Mountain Biking Scotland and Tayside and Fife Cycling Clubs have all supported the events. Big Tree Campervans’ financial contribution has been matched by Scottish Cycling through SPORTSMATCH funds.
Each age group winner (boys and girls) also wins a 2-day Big Tree Campervan family rental.
Simon stated: “As an avid mountain biker, I’d love to see even more people involved in this wonderful sport. I’m very pleased to sponsor a series which encourages grassroots racing.
As a company, we encourage adventure. With a bicycle, a camping van, and Scotland’s stunning scenery and trails, you can have one of the most memorable adventures of your life.
